Recent posts making me remenice about my time living in Albania when I had a migraine, slumped over the counter at the pharmacy, trying to describe what I was trying to buy

speaking in Russian first on reflex, realizing that was not useful

grumbling under my breath in English trying to parse what might be useful

describing my symptoms in spanish and french hoping any cognates might register

Receiving the correct meds almost certainly based on my "grew up with Italians" natural tendanacy to charades-level body language

REAL!! he’s such a hypocrite because if someone mentioned you had a work husband, his entire world would stop and he wold devise the absolute worst plans to make sure that your co-worker, everyone at your job, and everyone in the next building over knew that he was happily committed to you 

but if he is the work husband, he’s very........ dutiful in his role. there’s a loose office/lawyer au in my head where satoru is your secretary, and for all intents and purposes, your personal assistant, and he’s good at his job, but mostly because he considers his job to be pleasing you. he has coffee for you when you arrive, he moves your schedule around without you asking, he has answers to questions before you can even ask them, he has fresh flowers on your desk weekly, pokes into your meetings to pretend to hand you a file that’s really just maybe a single document in a manilla folder with candy on top of it—he’s made himself your business, your partner; he’s made himself irreplaceable, and he loves to remind everybody of that fact. 

he’s also extremely loyal. sure, he could day a week’s worth of work done in about a day, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just use his talents for anybody. he’s your secretary, so he’s at your beck and call, and everyone knows it. they know he’s the best, but also that he’s off limits—not because you won’t share him, but because satoru won’t let himself be shared. 

he also extends his duties beyond work, of course. when he hands you a print out of your schedule for the day and you’re confused by the three-hour block of time you have in the middle of the day, satoru just helps you shrug your coat of your shoulders and smiles, “that’s for the lunch date you have with me, of course!” hanging up your coat in your closet for you, “i’m paying, see you soon, sweets.” and because you’re great at your job, and satoru helps you be great, nobody really questions when the two of you have time for a 13-course tasting menu at 1pm on a tuesday afternoon. and if they did, all satoru would say that you two had a lovely date

so all of Peter’s actions towards Neal in s5, especially at the end of the first episode, were Not Okay, but I think it was really fucked up how Peter used the “we’re your family” card ESPECIALLY after the whole thing with Neal’s dad. Like you confide in this guy “yeah i consider you more of a family to me than my own flesh and blood” and then he uses it against you to tell you that you’re just a criminal and oh, btw, you’re getting an entirely new handler who you don’t even know! And Peter does it all under the justification of “protecting” Neal. Not cool!

I get the complexities of the situation but I feel like people are too lenient on Peter bc the show likes to make him out as the good/right one (the copaganda is showing)

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was a really fun, easy read. Really binge-able too, like it seems meant for vacation reading. However, I do wish that the titular Evelyn had been, like, even more of a terrible person

bit of oc lore bc why not:

rosemary was driving late at night intoxicated one time and accidentally hit sapphire with her car and thats how the two met.

sapphire, being an inhuman chaos bisexual, flirted with rose while she was literally in the hospital bed

saph was really like "youre cute. we should date." and somehow pulled rose into a relationship that lasted all of two months

the breakup is clean. rose is just like "hey, i really enjoy your company and all but i just didnt feel anything. im sorry."

saph goes "oh! thats all good, understandable :) wish youd told me sooner but its okay." and they still remain friends bc they just work better that way
